Publish positive news urges President
How can these Journalist Write good things about this government?
The President of Sri Lanka has urged journalists in the island to focus on what he called as positive news rather than only focusing on negative aspects. The president Mahinda Rajapaksa made the appeal as he declared open a new Media Development Centre at the Information Department in Colombo. But unfortunatly more lying by President and Government Ministers are taking place in Sri Lanka than positive in Sri Lanka. Most part of Tamil areas are militarized. Hence how can these Journalist Write good things about the government.
President Mahinda Rajapakshe made a fool of the world leaders when he promised to implement the ’13 plus’ Political package once the LTTE was killed and it was no secret that the world leaders including US and India turned a blind eye when more than 40,000 Tamil Civilians were killed by the Sri Lankan forces. Not to forget that LTTE leaders who surrendered with white flags were killed in too by the Sri Lankan forces. Continue reading

Sri Lanka should not forget India’s support in killing the LTTE amidst protest by court closures and protests by lawyers and artistes in South India, although it had to support the US-led resolution at the UNHRC due to DMK leader M. He was speaking at a certificate awarding function organized by the National Youth Corps and Sabaragamuwa University.

Lanka capable of solving its internal issues – Russian envoy
Russia who helped Sri Lankan Army kill more than 40,000 Tamil civilians in May 2009, yesterday said that Sri Lanka’s situation with regard to human rights does not in any way call for an external intervention and the Sri Lankan government is capable of solving its internal issues including human rights.
According to Russian ambassador to Sri Lanka, Vladimir P. Mikhaylov Russia strongly views that powerful nations do not have any right to dictate terms to other countries on how these countries should be governed and what kind of leaders should be in power. By saying this he gave a green light to smaller countries governments around the world to kill its political opponents and members of its minorities. Continue reading

By Nesan Shankar Raji – Senior Leader and spokesperson, EROS.
Tomorrow we celebrate Sri Lanka’s 64th year of independence from the British colonial imperialists. However it is important for us as Sri Lankans to open our eyes wide and take note of the ground realities which has taken effect on our island nation since our “so called” independence.Questions have often arisen as to whether we Sri Lankan’s had really won our national freedom from the hands of the then bankrupt British imperial colonialists unlike our neighbour India.
